It’s Week 11 and a relatively quiet week on the waivers. Andy picked up Joe Burrow in what must be a crystal ball decision, as there is still no clear timeline for his return. Inspired late season pick or wasted waiver claim? Elsewhere, Rich picked up Ricky Pearsall for a single point and thankfully, I picked up Jameson Williams and promptly left him on my bench, missing out on 19.70pts. Perfect. In other news, Shedeur (0.48pts) finally made his NFL debut, taking two sacks, a fumble and running for 16 yards. Not sure he is one to invest in long-term though, as in a vote of supreme confidence, the Browns have stated that Dillon Gabriel will return to the starting line-up whenever he is cleared from counting stars in the concussion protocol. Nice.

Week 11 Score: A Tadd McShonkey - W (95.32) 6-5 // Breece Lightning - L (94.74) 4-7

This week's first matchup is Rich vs Mike. The season’s tightest game so far with just 0.58pts in it. Mike must be absolutely kicking himself after doing absolutely everything he could to pick the worst starting line-up imaginable. A massive 74.0pts on the bench and if he had picked the right line-up, he would have made a 125.64pts score and easily beaten Rich. Pickens got 29.40pts from the bench and 6 players getting 10pts or less did not help your playoff chances. Rich, on the other hand, came away with the win, but only just. Bijan Robinson (30.30pts) aside, the team was about as meh as you could get. Lamar Jackson (4.72pts) was sacked 5 times and Travis Etienne (19.30pts) was warming the bench in the Jags dominant win over the Chargers. It looks like Rich will make the playoffs, but Mike needs a few wins and a little luck to make it.

Week 11 Score: Game of Throws - L (104.71) 7-4 // SnowshufflerJr - W (119.64) 4-7

The next tightest game with a paltry 14.93pts in it is Andy v Jen. Jen is desperately trying to crawl out of the Toilet Bowl playoffs and her win over Andy this week puts her in 7th place, but still sports the largest PA score in the league. Worse than Reece, if you can believe that. Andy missed his cheat code JT for his customary BYE week, but the only real highlight for him was Trey McBride, pulling in another 27.50pts this week. Otherwise, it was six players under 10pts and -K Jason Myers, who got a decent 14.0pts from 4 field goals (one over 50yds). Overall, good efficiency, but just not enough points on the board. The playoffs are likely so I guess Andy is starting to cruise a little 😎. As for Jen, there was a little more to write home about. With an optimum line-up, she would have scored an extra 9.70pts, but with Henderson (32.30pts) and resident bond villain, Drake London (18.90pts) scoring well, it was a relaxed week for the veteran coach.

Week 11 Score: Third Time Charmers - W (141.42) 10-1 // NobodyNeedsGoodNabers - L (103.47) 3-8

Next up it’s a 38.35pt game, in a battle of the Matts. Yet again, it was the southern, much more knowledgeable, and vastly less funny Matt, that won for the second time this season. There were a couple of moments across the weekend that I thought I had lost this matchup. But my guy, CMC, absolutely came back from a comparatively quiet Week Ten, with a stomping 35.10pts. Backed up by a strong showing for Kittle (24.70pts), Prescott (23.32pts) and JSN (20.60pts). With a couple of better selections, I could have had 163.32pts, but due to Matt Hulme’s poor showing, I didn’t need them. Speaking of which, 5 players scored under 10pts and only Cook made it over the 20pt barrier, just, with 20.40pts. A tough week for Matt’s difficult 2nd season. Not all coaches can cope with the pressure of retaining a title (only Jen has achieved it in 2021 and 2022) so it’s a tough task. Still you’ve got a Toilet Bowl playoff to contend with where eventual two-time winner, Reece, will be there to greet you.

Week 11 Score: Dali’s Salvadors - L (95.89) 8-3 // Clapton Catz - W (142.38) 5-6

The ever-widening gap increases with Dali and Zan’s game. 46.49pts between them made this a one-sided affair. Dali, clearly very distracted with delivering the final international game of the season in Madrid, took his eye firmly off the ball with an underwhelming points tally, despite rookie, Tetairoa McMillan, getting his season’s best score of 33.0pts. The rest of the team was not at the races, with 6 players scoring 8pts or less. Ouch. Zan on the other hand, got the week’s highest score, with Josh Allen, recovering from last week’s poor showing by his standards, to give a 45.68pt haul to the winning team. Shoutouts to Henry (20.20pts) and everyone’s favourite, Travis Kelce (24.10pts), who more than covered the 5 players who failed to get into double digits this week. So, Dali is a shoe-in for the second playoff BYE week and Zan’s patchy form sees him hovering over the Toilet Bowl still.

The week’s final game and largest gap of 58.25pts, saw Reece and Besty go at it. Predictably, Reece folded like the proverbial deckchair and with 7, yes, 7 players scoring under 10pts, it wasn’t a fun week for the sophomore coach. The team highlight was Tre Tucker (14.70pts) tucked away on the bench. One thing I wondered is whether there is a direct correlation between the number of Jags players in Reece’s starting line-up and how well they do in real life? Well, I actually wasted the time to run this elaborate statistical analysis. Turns out Reece’s line-up is the Jaguars’ personal curse. Every time he floods his starters with teal, Jacksonville face-plants, and the moment he scales back, they suddenly bulldoze opponents. It’s like the football gods took one look at his fantasy roster and said, “Too much Duval, cue the implosion.” Honestly, Reece should be hired as a sabotage scout. If his Sleeper line-up features more than one Jag, Liam Coen should cancel practice and brace for a public flogging. As for Besty…nice work, but congratulating you on a win against Reece seems like congratulating you for winning a foot race against a newly born baby. Unfair and not impressive. Collins (24.20pts) and Achane (21.50pts) were your highlights. Looks like your playoff spot is secure, so we’ll see you when it counts.
