Week 10

Redemption for some...

It’s Week 10 of ‘A View from Row Z’, your uninformed take on the various happenings in the CeeDee Compilation Bowl Fantasy League. We’ve come full circle this week and it’s time to play each other again. Redemption time. To quote the original meme, Anchorman, “Today we spell redemption, R. O. N. “

It’s Week 10 and a big thanks to Dali for stepping in, despite having to organise the penultimate international game of the season in Berlin, he still managed to deliver a cracking read. I am back now for the rest of the season (I think) so strap yourselves in for the playoff run in. Reece was by far the busiest on the waivers after his first successful week. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it they say. But like Claudio Ranieri, he just had to tinker with it. Good to see everyone had a good time at the Berlin game - maybe we need to do a Row Z game next year? I am putting it out there…all those in favour say AYE!

Week 10 Score: SnowshufflerJr - W (166.42) 3-7 // Breece Lightning - L (128.35) 4-6

A big week for Jen. After being beaten by this year’s cupcake, Reece. Jen came out with a statement win to avenge her week one defeat and get back to winning ways. Highest score for the week. Highest bench score and 3rd least efficient team, with the potential to have made 180.0pts for the week. A much needed win, but despite big scores from Henderson (34.0pts), London (24.4pts) and Egbuka (23.5pts) you still have the highest PA in the league - 1364.8pts to be exact. Mike had a great showing, but it’s very tough to compete when you have two no-shows in the team, with Hunter and Prater getting 1.9pts and 1pt respectively. At least you managed to field a DEF this week though. Good to see you paying a little more attention. Every cloud eh Mike.

Previous Score Week 1: SnowshufflerJr L (101.33) // Breece Lightning W (133.17)

Week 10 Score: Game of Throws - W (150.25) 7-3 // NobodyNeedsGoodNabers - L (137.93) 3-7

The week’s closest game and much like Week 1, it was a tight affair. The spoils went to Andy again and despite JT’s Week 9 blip, this year’s cheat code, scored a serious 51.6pts. 17 TDs so far this season. Jen must be relieved he has a BYE week coming up 😅. We can’t not mention Trey McBride (27.70pts) who is basically carrying the Cardinals offense right now and helping to hide the three players scoring 5.40pts or lower made this closer than it should have been. Matt on this other hand has the pleasure of having the highest losing score of the week. To make matters worse, if only he had picked all the right players he would have beaten Andy by 0.58pts. It’s the fine margins that have got you again. Another L and staring right into the Toilet Bowl playoffs. You’ve got four more weeks to turn things around. Shoutouts to Gibbs (38.20pts), Dart (25.28pts) and Olave (24.4pts). Healthy scores, but you need to do more against JT.

Previous Score Week 1: Game of Throws W (109.22) // NobodyeedsGoodNabers L (104.42)

Week 10 Score: Multiple Goregasms - W (144.90) 6-4 // Clapton Catz - L (116.79) 4-6

Another reversal of fortunes for Besty and Zan. Dali’s favourite Geordie got this week’s 3rd highest score and a very tidy 43.5pts from De’Von Achane. Almost perfect efficiency from Besty, with a possible 147.3pts on that table, but I’m sure he isn’t worrying as he all but secures his place in the playoffs. A nice easy win next week against Reece should seal the deal. As for Zan, perhaps he was more worried about the quality of his seats in Berlin than concentrating on fantasy this week. Sky offered some insightful advice to limit Kyle Pitts (5.80pts) but thankfully Mr Pitts, has been doing that all by himself for years. It’s still a miracle he gets picked up every year, I am almost certain he has been in an out of everyone's team this year. Zan, you’re hovering around the real playoffs and the toilet bowl, may I suggest you shit or get off the pot before it’s too late.

Previous Score Week 1: Multiple Gorgasms L (79.59) // Clapton Catz W (150.36)

Week 10 Score: Third Time Charmers - W (140.30) 9-1 // A Tadd McShonkey - L (105.89) 5-5

Sometimes this report is difficult to write, other times, like right now, it’s super easy. A second win this season makes it a clean sweep for me in the regular season. Strong points from Williams (25.10pts), Kittle (23.40pts) and JSN (20.30pts) made the week go by fairly smoothly. As for Rich, well the Seahawks DEF (27.25pts) were the standout performers in an otherwise underwhelming bunch. The least efficient team of the week, where there was a possible 128.29pts up for grabs. Not enough for the win, but still, you could have done a Tadd better. Currently in 5th place, Rich will be working hard to secure a lowly playoff spot, with his fate relying a little on the poor form of others. Good luck and see you in the playoffs (hopefully).

Previous Score Week 1: Third Time Charmers W (132.85) // A Tadd McShonkey L (107.22)

Week 10 Score: Dali’s Salvadors - W (124.0) 8-2 // Shedeurs Support Group - L (85.75) 1-9

Well, it seems that normal service has resumed and Reece is back to his usual self. Another L on the board and another week to forget. Matt Stafford (26.90pts) aside it was pretty poor. My personal favourites are DJ Moore putting in a season worst zero points and unable to catch any of his four targets and Xavier Hutchinson also putting in a zero point game as well after not being targeted over 40 snaps 😬 ouch. While Reece was busy looking like a UK score card in the Eurovision song contest, Dali has the lowest winning score of the week, ably helped along by Kyren Williams (22.40pts) and Ladd McConkey (20.70pts). A tidy win for Dali who is in the final stretch of the international games…good luck in Madrid, I hope you are going somewhere nice on holiday after!

So, that was Week 10, Reece reverted to type, Matt and Jen look destined for the Toilet Bowl and it’s a three, possibly four way fight to make the real playoffs. It’s getting tense and you’ve only got four weeks to confirm which way you are headed. Make it count and don’t fuck it up.

According to Sleeper, our top picks on the waivers include:

Brock Purdy - QB

Emari Demercado - RB

Jameson Williams - WR

Zach Ertz - TE

Daniel Carlson - K

New England Patriots - DEF

Legends don’t play for points. They play for the CeeDee Compilation Bowl.
