Waiver Wire Review

Fairly busy on the waivers and Free Agency this week. I would write all of the trades in here but with Dali’s changes and the need to keep this report to two pages, it’s taking up quite a bit of space. I will say, I expected more trades from Rich, but he decided to stick by his Week 1 poor performers with a single trade at RB- Gus Edwards Out and replaced by Jordan Mason.

Busy one for Dali with five changes (could this be a record?) to his team. Could the changes turn the tide?

However, this was not a good week for Dali. But it was a good week for Matt! God Bless Ramerica stormed to 2-0 with a whooping 168.31pts. Alvin Kamara really showed up on Sunday, putting down 47pts (for the math(s) fans that's 60% of Dali’s total score). Some big scores from the rest of the team added to Dali’s misery and even the bench got in on the act with the highest bench score of the week, 72.5pts (92% of Dali’s total score). Can this run continue into Week 3, or will there be a spectacular implosion?

Our other Matt kept the Lamb Madras moniker for Week 2, but came away with the W to go 1-1. I don’t have much to say on this game as it was about as solid as it gets. The Chicken Tikka Masala of performances, if you will. Everyone scored points in and around the 20s. A reliable effort, but he did leave Buffalo’s James Cook on the bench for 28.5pts. A dodgy defence this week, but you have the high-scoring Saints to thank for that, so hopefully it’s just a one-off.

Big start to Week 2 for Game of Throws with Achane putting 29.50pts on the board. However, it didn’t last. The dizzy heights of last week's highest score failed to materialise and he pulled in his first L of the season to go 1-1. A bit of a drubbing if I am honest. Good points on the bench after bringing in Dobbins on the waiver wire, but he was unable to put his trust in the RB - maybe next week. Don’t overthink it, Andy.

After Rich’s opening week fumble, Leytonstoners shook off the loss to go 1-1 and put up a very respectable points tally with 140.08pts, the 2nd highest score of the week. Marvin Harrison (32pts) and Nico Collins (27.50pts) were the star performers. No panic purchases on the waivers, just kept it simple. For Week 3, will Rich give up on CMC or let him take up a valuable bench spot for 6 weeks? Sam LaPorta has misfired two weeks on the trot, so could be a candidate to also drop out of the squad.

TeamReeceparkinson got a lucky assist from the Commissioner this week, reminding him at 17.59 to check his team before the 18.00 KO. He managed to squeeze in a switch at TE with Kittle coming in for Njoku, who is out after an ankle sprain. Lucky, as Kittle brought in a very good 20.60pts and was third top scorer in the team behind Jefferson and Metcalf. Decent job for the week to go 1-1 getting your first win under your belt, but a little less time listening to your favourite Louisiana rappers and a little more time on your team for Week 3 yeah?

SnowshufflerJr was let down this week by TE Colby Parkinson and WR Stefon Diggs, just falling short in the week's tightest match up. A respectable effort but lacked consistency across the starting team. Benchwarmer Malik Nabers would have made the score much closer with 1.65pts in it. Hard luck, not a lot you can do except look forward to Week 3.

Besty, Besty, Besty. Week 2 and I think it’s time Multiplegorgasms gets a little busier in the waivers and Free Agency, just running out of steam as the weekend went on. Nice points from Hurts and London, but the rest of the squad is looking a little light for points and more depth is required. A decent switch in DEF though - Steelers In, Bengals Out, but I think more activity is required. 2nd spot in the waivers- make the most of it.

Lastly, it really was not a good week for Dali. After some major surgery on the squad, where Goff’s Week 1 performance got him dropped like a stone, he switched in Tua at QB, but with yet another concussion (get well soon) and 7.5pts on the board, it did not work out. Kyler is still available AND you had Purdy warming the bench scoring pretty well. Criminal underperformance from the whole team, even the bench didn’t show up, and at 32.86pts, it was the second lowest bench of the week. Tough pill to swallow that mate. Still it’s a marathon, not a sprint, right? 😀

Week 3 is coming up and there are some with more work to do than others. Waivers are only 1 day before it moves to Free Agency and unsurprisingly, Dali has the first pick. Good luck. Seems like Jen is looking to offload in trades if any one is interested!
