It’s Week 10 of ‘A View from Row Z’, your uninformed take on the various happenings in the Leytonstoners Bowl Fantasy League. This gameweek was very much over before it got started for some and those with Jackson, Chase, or Burrows, were endowed with serious points - if you played them of course.

Week 10 is over and no change at the top of the table with Leytonstoners going 8-2. But 2nd through 5th is tight. Everyone is on 6-4 and every point matters from here on in. A busy week in waivers with 13 moves going on. No standout moves for me, maybe dropping the Bengals DEF was a smart move, but the Bears DEF only put up 2.1pts, so not sure there was a big enough payoff. Jen dropping the Lions DEF proved costly as the Giants were underwhelming. No change there, right Andy?

Week 9 Score: God Bless Ramerica (97.45) // Multiple Goregasms (166.98)

An absolute car crash of a week for me here and my second loss to Besty. Ja’marr Chase (61.4pts), with the season's largest points return, basically ending my weekend on Friday morning. I had no chance. Benching Joe Burrows did not help me at all and also rolling the dice in the hope that Nico Collins would play, ended any chance I had of this being an enjoyable gameweek. It’s the last time I ask Rich for advice. I should have stuck to my original plan of playing Josh Downs instead of Collins. Not that it would have made the slightest difference. That, along with playing Burrows and White, would have meant the gap would have been 32.81pts. Slightly more respectable. I should say Multiple Goregasms were more than just Chase’s huge score- performances from Hurts and Kelce really put the proverbial nail in the coffin for me. Well done Besty again - 32% over your predicted score is an excellent achievement. It’s the second week in a row you have absolutely smashed it.

Week 10 Score: The Lambulance (75.7pts) // Leytonstoners (128.15)

This week's second-largest gap and lowest score from Matt Hulme, it seems oddly fitting that the team name was The Lambulance, because this gameweek was completely dead. With a score that only Dali could be proud of, it was an anonymous performance from pretty much the whole team, including a pathetic showing from the bench. Last week's gamechanger, Zay Flowers (7.4pts), in the week's best game, seemed to be allergic to collecting any points and joining in the spoils. Rich’s Leytonstoners were propped up ably by QB Lamar Jackson and Joe Mixon, but for me, it was the return of the #1 Draft Pick, CMC, getting his first points of the season. An easy win for Rich and a lacklustre loss for Matt. That’s 2 wins for Rich in this matchup. The rookie coach cannot live with the seasoned Leytonstoners coach.

I am certain Andy will have really enjoyed this one, especially as revenge for the Week 3 battering he took earlier on in the season. Bijan Robinson had an excellent game with 29.4pts, but let’s be honest, with the 2nd highest bench score of the week, Andy could have made this much more embarrassing for Jen. Connor and Hubbard are the ones to mention, both getting over 20pts. The most amusing part of this matchup is that Sleeper has given Jen the ‘Best Manager’ award because she scored the maximum number of points with her starting lineup. Best Manager? Go home Sleeper, you’re drunk. I am not hearing all that efficiency talk when it was the 2nd lowest score of the week and a convincing loss as well. The stats can tell whatever story you want, but a loss is a loss 😀.

Week 10 Score: Dali’s Salvadors (98.64) // Changed like OchoCinco (102.94)

I swear this whole league is fast becoming about whether Dali can actually go a whole season without a win. More invisible than invincible, Week 10 leaves Dali 0-10. At various points this weekend, Dali really did threaten to end this run of form and make a show of Reece’s relaxed approach to Fantasy Football. However, in yet another close matchup for Reece, he made this one stick and by 4.3pts, he just scraped through by a narrow margin. Now, I’ve done the math(s) and by my calculations, a switch of Tua for Baker and Tyreek for DeAndre, would have actually given Dali the win by 0.04pts. Having said all that, if Reece had played Kittle instead of Ferguson, we wouldn’t be considering this permutation. The gap would have been too wide. Tough luck Dali. If only you had been playing me, Matt or Jen…we would be talking about a famous, long, overdue victory.

Week 11 is right around the corner. Matt Hulme has the first pick of the Waivers. Choose wisely, don’t waste it! Dali plays Matt next week, so considering this week's performance, he must fancy his chances and the pressure mounts on The Lambulance to turn this one around. It is probably my pick of the matchups. I can feel that Dali might just do it. Howay the lads!! Or is that Haway? 😉
