Week 13

It’s Week 13 of ‘A View from Row Z’, your vaguely informed take on the madcap happenings in the Leytonstoners Bowl Fantasy League. Let’s be real for a moment; there’s only one storyline we care about this week, and it ain’t Josh Allen somehow being the first QB in history to put up a passing, receiving and rushing touchdown in a single game… although that was snow joke…

With week 13 in the rear-view mirror, your co-commissioner has finally decided to step up to the plate and put together a weekly review… no pressure. With only one week of the fantasy regular season remaining, I’ve bagged myself that all important play-off bye week by remaining atop the table, but things are really heating up elsewhere! Besty (2nd), Jen (3rd) AND Andy (4th) are all sitting at 8-5 and are therefore all vying for second place and the other play-off bye; it will almost certainly come down to points difference. O’Daly has guaranteed himself a play-off spot in 5th place BUT there’s still a chance Reece (7th) could pip Matt Hulme (6th) to that final play-off spot. Week 13 however, was reserved for the only guy who’s completely out of the play-off picture, and he managed to rustle up a performance that floored me harder than Trevor Lawrence after a cheap shot from Azeez Al-Shaair…

Week 13 Score: [Dali’s Salvadors] (156.40) // [SnowshufflerJr] (124.04)

Today redemption is spelt D.A.L.I… after 12 weeks of misery, dashed hopes and screen grabs from his “other league” (yawn) Dali has gone and bagged his first win of the season… congrats! And he did it in style with Tua (29.2), Josh Jacobs (21.7), Tyreek (20.3) and Rico Dowdle (who? 21.3) all scoring above 20pts and achieving the lowest bench score by far with 28.2pts, a sterling effort. Bill Belichick said that the NFL season begins after Thanksgiving… if that was true then Dali’s season would be off to a blinding start… but in this case it’s not. On the other side of the match-up, and despite making Dali sweat with Brock Bower’s phenomenal 30.2pts, Jen was let down by subpar performances across the board including Ken Walker (5.6) and AJ Brown (11.2). But, as you said yourself Jen, you can’t be mad when history is being made…

Previous Score Week 6: [Dali’s Salvadors] (41.76) // [SnowshufflerJr] (156.12)

Week 13 Score: [God Bless Ramerica] (160.82) // [Deep Blue CeeDee] (110.74)

Now onto this week's highest scorer and the Ant to my Dic… I mean Dec. Matthew O’D blew Matthew H’s Deep Blue CeeDee out of the water (gettit?) with HUGE scores from Josh Allen (32.42), Bucky Irving (27.5), Njoku (26.2) and Nico Collins (19.9)... that trade’s not looking so bad now is it buddy boy? MOD achieved all this whilst also clocking the highest bench score of the week with 89.46pts… which was higher than Reece’s actual score… ooosh. Despite a strong score from the Bronco’s DEF (14.3) Matt H’s hopes were sunk (gettit?) by a dismal outing from, you’ve guessed it, CeeDee Lamb (5.6) amongst others. With Matt H now on a two-week losing streak, he’ll be hoping for a sea-change (gettit) in week 14 to keep him in the playoffs

Previous Score Week 6: [God Bless Ramerica] (154.02) // [AC/CeeDee] (148.68)

Week 13 Score: [Game of Throws] (146.79) // [Changed like OchoCinco] (87.45)

In a week devoid of truely tight results, Andy and Reece’s matchup was the most one-sided affair. With a roster including this week's highest scoring player Jayden Daniels (32.64), the return of Mike Evans (25.8), plus Achane (21.00), Bijan Robinson (25.5) AND the second highest bench score of 78.26pts, Reece didn’t really stand a chance… especially as he left Ekler in his lineup who went on IR on Saturday… *makes note to implement auto-subs for next season. Swapping in Chase Brown (19.0) would have been the only way to improve your score, and it wouldn’t have made a blind bit of difference, so you can make peace with that Reece… Reece’s peace-s if you will… I’m sorry…

Previous Score Week 6: [Game of Throws] (120.96) // [Changed like OchoCinco] (112.35)

Week 13 Score: [Leytonstoners] (132.08) // [Multiple Goregasms] (123.17)

There comes a point where winning becomes meaningless… where, like some kind of ancient God, you sit atop a pile of the corpses of your vanquished foes and think to yourself… what’s the point? Ending Besty’s 5 week winning streak, THAT’S the point. There’s going to have to come a point where Lamar (27.38) and Mixon (21.9) stop rescuing me… and that will be week 14 when they’re both on bye! I was very lucky this week, scraping a win by the smallest margin (8.04) and going up against Besty’s stellar line-up of Hurts (18.62), Saquon (18.7), Montgomery (15.4) and Pickens (16.4). If only he’d played Chase (20.6), London (17.3) and/or Schultz (17.1), Best-y would have bested-me… I’m sorry…

Fun little stat fact for you; I’ve only got the third highest point score BUT I’ve got the lowest points against… there’s a word for that: luck… or c**t… I’ll let you decide which is the most appropriate.

Previous Score Week 6: [Leytonstoners] (112.77) // [Multiple Goregasms] (106.42)

As we look ahead to the final week of the fantasy regular season, there are some supremely spicy matchups that will have real ramifications for the playoffs. In the fight for second place, Besty takes on Jen in a tilt that could decide it, and Matt O’D could destroy Andy’s chances of getting that much coveted bye week. Meanwhile Matt H will face Reece to decide who gets the last playoff spot; if Reece wins then he’ll need to beat Matt by more than the 60.15pts separating them… you couldn’t write it! And then there’s me vs Dali… let’s be honest, a 12-2 record would mean only one thing… I’m one and done in the playoffs…
