Week 11

It’s Week 11 of ‘A View from Row Z’, your vaguely informed take on the madcap happenings in the Leytonstoners Bowl Fantasy League. One case of heartbreak, two close games, a wild game for the Lions and a season-high top score. This week really had it all!

The Week 11 rollercoaster has finally ended and Rich extends his lead at the top of the table by pulling off the kind of lucky win Dali could only dream about. Jen and Besty are trying their utmost to keep Rich honest, both 7-4 for the season, with myself and Andy close behind on a bang average 6-5 so far. Dali finally joins the rest of us in the over 1000pts PF and Reece is keeping Dali company in the losers bracket. It might take a minor miracle for that to change now. Only 10 changes in the waivers, so a quiet week, but competition to pick up Hockenson was unfounded as he only scored 3.3pts compared to Week 10’s bumper 15.2pts.

Week 11 Score: Dali’s Salvadors (123.57) // Lambrini (127.83)

I think I can speak on behalf of everyone (even Matt H) when I say, I absolutely thought Dali had done it this week. This was before Goff (45.58pts) put in the game of his life and the Jags were destroyed by the Lions 6-52. If only Dali had played Dobbins and/or Hill. I cannot believe this one slipped away. Matt Hulme must be buying a few lottery tickets this week, because he had a very lucky escape. Goff aside, it was an anonymous performance from the team, with the final say falling to CeeDee Lamb to bring home the Lambrini. He scored 18.60pts, just 4.2pts over his predicted in a pretty horrible game for the Cowboys on Monday night. Still, Matt takes the spoils, winning by just 4.26pts and leaving Dali 0-11. To add insult to injury, Dali was named the week’s worst manager by Sleeper, setting the worst line-up and only scoring 78% of the perfect, possible line-up (158.47pts). I’m still trying to get over this one.💔

Previous Score Week 4: Dali’s Salvadors (95.97) // Lambs to the Slaughter (as it was back then) (162.55)

Week 11 Score: Leytonstoners (126.13) // Changed like OchoCinco (124.09)

This game really irritated me and I think I only have myself to blame. I texted Reece at 21.28pm on Sunday when he was up against Rich saying, ‘...I will be so happy if you beat Rich!!!’ Note the three exclamation marks for how much I wanted it. However, the proverbial egg is on my face and I am most unhappy. Coming into Monday’s game, it looked like Reece had this one in the bag. Enter Joe Mixon, stage left. 20 Carries for 109 yards. Caught 2 passes for 44 yards. Scores 3 Touchdowns. Smashes 35.30pts and snatches victory from the jaws of defeat for Leytonstoners. A win by 2.04pts. Rich really showed that even when Lamar, CMC and Wilson are having quiet weeks, he can still bring it home. Reece. Reece. Reece. Imagine you had played Ferguson this week instead of the injured Kittle. We would be talking about a 0.04pts win. And I would be happy. It seems there is an air of inevitability of Rich topping the table before we move into the playoffs, which is kinda, sorta, pretty annoying.

Previous Score Week 4: Leytonstoners (156.54) // Team ReeceParkinson (as it was back then) (123.20)

Week 11 Score: God Bless Ramerica (129.93) // SnowshufflerJr (197.93)

Nothing to see on this matchup. Absolutely boring. No no no. There definitely wasn’t a season-high score. There was, also, not a stupidly high bench score for me. No. It was a wonderful week. Gold star, A+, 100%.

Ok, it was awful for me, as it was in Week 4. Annoyingly, the second week in a row I have been taken apart. Third highest score of the week and still beaten. It stings. Well done to Jen. 24pts for K- Boswell, 38.7pts for WR- St. Brown, in that ridiculous Lions game, and 31.3pts for Brock Bowers. Also, a massive score for the Texans DEF (22.75pts). It’s safe to say, I was resoundingly put to bed. I could talk about all of the better choices I could or should have made, but none of them would have mattered. The gap was too big. Jen also had a huge bench score, showing just how much strength in depth she has got at her disposal.

Previous Score Week 4: God Bless Ramerica (108.90) // SnowshufflerJr (161.73)

Week 11 Score: Game of Throws (111.74) // Multiple Goregasms (149.24)

Last up, it’s this week’s lowest scorer, Andy, and second-highest scorer, Besty. It was a busy bye week for Andy’s team, who gained the title of Most Efficient Manager this week although it was kinda forced upon him. Hilariously, he also got Best Manager of the Week for setting a perfect line-up, again, this was pretty much forced upon him. I think this loss was probably expected, considering who he had out. Kupp did his usual thing of scoring a boatload of points and Achane did his best to keep Andy afloat, but it wasn’t enough to fend off the marauding Multiple Goregasms. Besty is relishing each gameweek, coming through with a very decent 149.24pts to extend his 4-game, unbeaten run. Barkley, Montgomery, and Chase were the main characters this week and a solid result takes Besty up to 3rd in the table. Between him and Jen, it’s a race to grab that 2nd place behind Rich.

Previous Score Week 4: Game of Throws (132.92) // Multiple Goregasms (110.72)

Week 12 is Thanksgiving Weekend and maybe Dali will finally be thankful for setting the right line-up. He plays Game of Throws, and based on form, it should be an interesting matchup. Andy has the #1 pick of the Waivers for the first time this season. Make it count. I have a horrible bye week next weekend, so I am expecting to go full Andy Saiker and throw it away against my co-commissioner. Joy.

According to Sleeper, our top picks on the waivers include:

Brock Purdy - QB

Brian Robinson - RB

Josh Downs - WR

Dallas Goedert - TE

Spencer Shrader - K

Washington Commanders - DEF
